Week-long lockdown imposed in Arghakhanchi

ARGHAKHANCHI: The local administration in Arghakhanchi has enforced a week-long lockdown against coronavirus in the district, beginning from 6:00 am today.

Chief District Officer Bijay Raj Poudel said an all-party meeting held in coordination of the District Administration Office decided to go into lockdown, owing to the increasing risk of the virus infection.

Currently, the district has three active COVID-19 cases: two are in Bhumikasthan municipality and one in Shitganga municipality. As said by assistant CDO Binod Khanal, the infected are in the locally-build isolation facility.

The district so far reports the three COVID-19 deaths. A total of 330 have been confirmed to have contracted the virus to date and three have died and 324 have returned home after recovery.

Presently 161 people arrived here from India and outside the district are staying in several quarantine centers.
