KATHMANDU: The High Court Pokhara’s Baglung bench has ordered for providing pure drinking water to the city people.

The order issued on Tuesday in the name of Baglung Town Drinking Water and Sanitation Consumers’ Committee has sought the supply of pure drinking water to the residents of Baglung municipality and safety of their life.

Besides, the Chief District Officer and the Baglung municipality have been directed to monitor whether the locals are provided with safe drinking water and the Committee has been required to respond to the court in writing within the next ten days. It has also demanded the monitoring report in writing.

The supply of pure drinking water in the town has been ceased since the past two months. It is said even the distributed water was fetched from paddy field and the filthy source.
