KATHMANDU: The Ganeshman Singh Study Academy has said the government should be responsible in containing the coronavirus spread.
The Academy said the government failed to perform to live up to the expectations of the people.
On the occasion, Academy chair and former minister Nabindra Raj Joshi called for the government to responsibly present before the citizens in regard to the prevention and control of coronavirus.
“The government should make the quarantine management and PCR tests effective”, he said, stressing the need to put the health issue on top priority.
He further said the government should pay attention to conduct PCR tests of the people working in the forefront of service delivery. He also stressed the need to engage private hospitals in the test and treatment of the virus.
Former Secretary of the Health Ministry Dr Sudha Sharma said there should be separate hospitals for providing treatment to the coronavirus-infected and general patients.
“The government should completely evacuate some hospitals for providing treatment to the corona-infected patients”, she added.
Earlier too, the Academy had developed a comprehensive report on the economic impacts of coronavirus and submitted it to the government. It has also continuously conducted dialogue on education and health issues.
