Rajbhandari picked as ambassador for Belgium, Adhikari for Pakistan, Khadka for Germany

KATHMANDU: The government has recommended three joint secretaries at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for ambassadors.

A cabinet meeting held on Monday recommended joint secretaries Gehendra Rajbhandari, Tapas Adhikari and Ramji Khadka for ambassadors.

According to the decision, Joint Secretary Rajbhandari has been picked as the ambassador for Belgium and European Union, Tapas Adhikari as ambassador for Pakistan and Ram Kaji Khadka for Germany.

Joint secretaries can be recommended for ambassadors as per the provision of the existing law of Nepal.

The cabinet also decided to appoint Loknath Subedi to the post of treasurer for Social Welfare Council under the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens, informed Minister For Communication and Information Technology Yuba Raj Khatiwada.

Similarly, the cabinet meeting decided to appoint Durga Bhandari as the acting chairman of Press Council. Bhandari had been picked as a member of the Council only few days ago.

Likewise, Dr Kalyan Rokka has been appointed as the acting vice chairman of Youth and small enterprises self-employment fund.
