Indian authorities bar Nepali trucks from entering India

KAKARBHITTA: Indian authorities have stopped Nepali trucks going towards India with export items through Kakarbhitta border point.

Even though all exports from this were stopped since the start of lockdown in March last week, Nepali businessmen were exporting on the basis of understanding with the Indian authorities.

However, the trucks going toward India carrying cardamom, tea, cardamom and other items were stopped in the Mechi bridge since yesterday.

Director General of the Department of Customs Suman Dahal said around 25 trucks have been stopped in the Mechi Bridge.

According to him, imports from India, however, have continued.
