Dibesh Pokharel bags First Runner-up title of American Idol



KATHMANDU: Dibesh Pokharel of Nepali origin has bagged the First Runner-up tile of famous reality show American Idol 2020.

Just Sam, 21, of Liberian origin clinched the title of American Idol leaving Dibesh behind in terms of votes.

A massive campaign had been launched to help her emerge victorious in Liberia.

Sam and Dibesh had made their way to the final after becoming top seven and five finalists.

Earlier, Besides Sam and Dibesh, Francisco Martin, Dillon James and Jonny West were among the top five finalists.

Dibesh who is also known as Arthur Gunn, 22, had made it to the top five finalists by singing a song titled ‘I Don’t Want To Be”.

Both Sam and Dibesh had performed two songs each in the final round. They had performed from their respective residences and so did the panel of judges due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

Dibesh, originally from Ravi Bhavan, Kathmandu had left for America in 2014. He lives with his family members in Wichita city of Kansan State of America.

He has stolen the limelight, of late, after he participated in the American Idol.
