USA reports 90, 973 deaths, 1,526,826 infection cases



KATHMANDU: America, the worst-hit in terms of both deaths and infection cases, has reported 860 deaths in the last 24 hours taking the total to 90, 973.

According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, with 19, 053 new cases, the number of infection cases has surged to 1,526,826 as of Monday morning.

Currently, 1,090, 916 coronavirus patients are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across America, of which 16,353 are critical.  Meanwhile, 344, 937 have recovered after treatment.

New York is the worst-hit with 28, 325 deaths followed by New Jersey and Massachusetts with 10,366 and 5,797 deaths, respectively.

The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) had declared Coronavirus a Public Health Emergency on January 31 in the US.

Broke out in Wuhan City of China last December, the deadly virus has spread to 213 countries including two international conveyances across the world, killing 316,514 and infecting 4,798,408  people as of Monday morning.
