KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Valley is covered in mist since early morning and it is likely to continue throughout the day today, according Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD).

According to Bibhuti Pokharel, a meteorologist, the lower level of the air pressure is cold while the upper level is comparatively warmer in the capital causing the mist . It should normally have been just the opposite.

The mist will clear only after rain or sunshine. The absence of both has caused the mist, said Pokharel.

Light rain is forecast in the hilly areas of the eastern region today.

Likewise, the weather will be generally cloudy through the country with chances of light rain on Wednesday and Thursday.
