Free health camp in Mustang settlement

MUSTANG: Free health camps have been organized at Lo Gherkar Damodarkund rural municipality in Mustang, a trans-Himalaya district, which has still has no access to health facilities based on medical science.

The health camps had provided treatment based on Sowa Rigpa, the traditional Tibetan medical practices.

According to Sowa Rigpa Association Nepal’s chair Aamchi Dr Tenzing Dharke Gurung, over 2,000 had received the service from those camps held separately at five wards of the rural municipality.

Besides, they were given medicines free of charge.

As he said, the camps were meant for boosting up immunity power of the locals who have been deprived of even basic health facilities due to the COVID-19 crisis.

They were informed about preventive measures against the virus. The camps had run for five days and people of Giling, Gami, Damkar, D-Surkhang, De-Tange, Chharang, Marang, Lo-Tersok and Ghansa were benefitted. Gandaki Province Assembly members Indra Bista and Chandmohan Gauchan and rural municipality chair Raju Bista had facilitated to organize the camps.

Other local representatives and rural municipality chief administrative officer Chhayalal Moktan have expressed happiness that such health camps were organized in remote settlement amidst the existing adverse situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

This type of event is in the annual calendar of the organizer Himalayan Guge Organization.
