NC holding parliamentary party meeting today

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) is holding its parliamentary party meeting to dwell on the ordinance on the Constitutional Council brought by the government today.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at Lhotse Hall of Federal Parliament Building at 10 am, according to a NC source.

The office-bearers’ meeting of the NC held on Wednesday had decided to call a party’s parliamentary committee meeting to discuss the latest political developments including the ordinance.

President Bidhya Devi Bhandari had issued an ordinance on the CC in line with Article 114 (1) of the Constitution at the recommendation of the government.

On April 24, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had brought the same ordinance but withdrawn following criticisms from all quarters.
