NCP Secretariat meeting at 1 pm; PM Oli likely to participate

KATHMANDU: The meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) will be held at 1 pm today.

It is learned that Prime Minister KP Oli is likely to participate in the meeting to be held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar.

Prime Minister Oli had earlier rescheduled the meeting of the cabinet for 2 pm after it overlapped the scheduled Secretariat meeting.

NCP General Secretary Bishnu Paudel had reached NCP Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s residence in Khumaltar to “convey” PM Oli’s message about the reschedule of the cabinet meeting.

Party sources said PM Oli would “face” the meeting of the Secretariat this afternoon.

Prime Minister Oli had earlier called an emergency cabinet meeting overlapping the schedule of the Secretariat meeting.

The meeting was called without consultation with the disgruntled Dahal-Nepal faction, hinting that Prime Minister Oli was trying to move ahead unilaterally without following the party decision.
