Govt not to bear test, treatment expenses for COVID-19



KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population has decided not to bear test and treatment expenses for the COVID-19.

A meeting of the Ministry of Health on Sunday decided that all except for severely disabled, senior citizens, sanitation workers, security personnel, health workers and frontline staff should undergone test and treatment on their own, said Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam.

At a regular press briefing of the ministry on Sunday, Spokesperson Gautam stated that the decision was taken as per the meeting of the Council of Ministers.

He added that if the aforementioned persons were insured for the coronavirus, the examination and treatment would be done through the insurance amount.
