12 succumb to COVID-19, Nepal’s death toll hits 739



KATHMANDU: A total of 12 people died of the coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the coronavirus death toll has reached 739 as of Sunday afternoon with the new deaths.

Meanwhile, Nepal has recorded as many as 2,942 new cases of coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, with the recent data, the total number of cases reached 132,246 in the country as of Sunday afternoon.

Ministry’s Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor said that altogether 14,875 sample tests were conducted across the country in the past 24 hours.

According to Dr. Gautam, 2,326 individuals got discharged from the hospitals in the past 24 hours while the number of people winning the battle against the virus reached 92,166 in the country.

Nepal’s recovery rate stands at 69.7 percent, he added.

Nepal currently has 39,341 active cases, he said.

Dr. Gautam stated that a total of 12,933 people are in institutional isolation and 26,408 others are in home isolation facilities.
