KATHMANDU: The fear of coronavirus infection has loomed large after as many as 500 people diagnosed with coronavirus went out of contact in the Kathmandu Valley.

According to records, 425 coronavirus-infected people are out of contact in Kathmandu Metropolitan City and 75 in Lalitpur Metropolitan City, informed respective district health offices.

The problem of tracking down those people diagnosed with the virus cropped up after they filled out forms with wrong details of contact numbers and addresses.

“It has been difficult to track down 500 people diagnosed with the virus after the patients filled out forms with wrong contact numbers and addresses,” said Hari Kunwar, the chief of Health Division of Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

It has been a headache for the government to track down these infected people due to wrong details they filled in the forms before they underwent PCR tests.

Many people tested positive for coronavirus do not receive even calls, shared the district health offices.

Public health offices haved handed over the task of contacting the infected people to the police.
