Two cops injured in attack by group including ward chairman’s son

BAJURA: Two police personnel have been injured when a group of locals including a son of Ward Chairman Bhuwan KC of Budhiganga Municipality-7 of Bajura district attacked them.

The In-charge of Ritha Police Post and a policeman were injured in the attack. The injured are undergoing treatment at Bayalpata Hospital in Achham.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Tanka Prasad Bhattarai of the District Police Office, Bajura, the police were attacked while trying to arrest a group accused of murdering a local hotelier Paras Raut.

Rawat, who was running a hotel in Betalmandau Bazaar of Budhiganga Municipality-8, was stoned to death by local youths.

A search to nab the Ward Chairman’s son on the run is on, police said.
