Home Ministry’s SMS system hacked

KATHMANDU: The short message service (SMS) system of the Home Ministry has been hacked.

The SMS system was hacked at 2 pm on Wednesday, according to Kedarnath Sharma, the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Issuing a press note, Sharma said a hacker unofficially accessed to the SMS system of the Home Ministry and disseminated a wrong message at around 2 pm on Wednesday.

The Ministry has clarified that it did not disseminate the wrong and misleading message.
