Retrofitting work of Singha Durbar gains speed



KATHMANDU: Works of retrofitting of Singha Durbar have gained speed again after being affected for some time due to the ongoing lockdown to avoid the spread of coronavirus.

Foundation work is underway on the west face of Singha Durbar.

The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) has stated that the main work of retrofitting has been completed in the remaining three facades and the work of laying tiles and marble and painting is underway.

Deputy Director of the Central Project Implementation Unit under NEA, Jhappar Singh Bishwokarma said that the work was carried out by adding workers by adopting health and safety measures. Workers have been mobilized by maintaining social distance.

According to NEA, the reconstruction work of Ranipokhari and Dharahara halted due to the lockdown has already started.
