KATHMANDU: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Thakur Prasad Gyawali has directed police officials not to exercise high-handedness on people in the name of enforcing lockdown.
After security personnel courted controversy for using force on lockdown violators, Nepal Police Chief Gyawali directed the officials to be present before the general public in a modest manner.
IGP Gyawali summoned three Additional Inspector Generals— Tarini Lamshal, Sailesh Thapa and Hari Bahadur Pal— and Chiefs of Police Offices in Kathmandu and directed them to immediately stop baton-charging general public.
