Bagmati Province launches agro transport call center



HETAUDA: The Bagmati province government has brought a call center into operation in an effort to address farmers’ problems during the nationwide lockdown against the coronavirus pandemic.

The Agro Transport Call Center operated by the Province ministry of land management, agriculture and cooperatives aims to facilitate transport, sale and distribution of agricultural products and also the supplies of fertilizer and seeds for farmers, according to the ministry.

As said by ministry secretary Dr. Yogendra Karki, farmers, suppliers and transporters can seek help from the center if they face any issues in the transport, sale and supplies of vegetables, fruits seeds, fertilizer, pesticides, veterinary drugs, eggs, milk, poultry feeds and fodder.

”We are aware of more possible complications in the agricultural supplies in the future”, said ministry’s livestock development officer Avash Koirala said.

The center is receiving many calls since its operation and most calls are related to transportation issues. The call center remains open from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm each day. The contact numbers of the centers are 057-25945, 9845125090 and 9845612921.
