In the virtual meeting, the secretary-level meeting made a review on the latest situation of the energy sector and dwelled on problems and measures taken by the countries.

Secretaries in the meeting discussed the toll taken by the Covid-19 on the energy sector, balance between demand and supply and the controlling measures taken by the countries,  said Dinesh Ghimire, secretary at the Ministry of Energy.

Meanwhile, Secretary Ghimire has urged his Indian counterpart Sanjiv Nandan Sahaya to take forward the process to establish a joint company to build Butwal-Gorakhpur 400 KV Transmission line.

Ghimire also urged Secretary Sahaya to create an environment enabling Nepal to import the hydro-related equipment from India saying that Nepal’s cabinet has decided to construct the hydro projects even during the lockdown.
