Over 420 dead, total positive cases cross 12,000-mark in India

NEW DELHI: The total number of COVID-19 cases in India has surged past the 12,000-mark. The death toll has reached 420, Indian media reports have said.

According to the Union health ministry, India’s total number of positive COVID-19 cases has climbed to 12,759.

As many as 1,514 have been either discharged or cured.

Maharashtra has the highest number of confirmed 2,919 cases followed by Delhi at 1,578.
