Students complain against their teacher for sexual harassment



KATHMANDU: Students of Shree Narayan Basic School based in Lalitpur have lodged a complaint against a teacher for harassing them sexually.

Irate students from Grade II to V complained to the school principal in writing demanding due action against the perpetrator.

Mentioning the name of their teacher Nanda Prasad Niraula, who teaches Social Studies at the school, in the complaint letter to the principal, they wrote, “We would like to request the school administration to impartially investigate the case as we have often been abused by him.”

“Nanda sir misbehaves with girls and often gropes our body parts including our breasts lewdly,” they wrote, adding, “We are in injustice. So we would like to request you to investigate the case impartially on the injustice and misdemeanor meted out to us,” reads the complaint letter.

Students who have complained range between nine to 13 years in age while their accused teacher Niraula is 50 years old.

Earlier too, according to Principal Sabita Silwal, a complaint had been lodged against Niraula for sexual harassment.

Niraula has been teaching at the school since the past one year.
