Avalanches obstruct Manalsu Trekking Route

GORKHA: Four places along the Manalsu Trekking Route have been hit by avalanches following heavy snowfall.

Avalanches occurred at three places in Chumnubri Rural Municipality-2 and at one place at Chumnubri-2, according to locals.

Locals have been gripped by fear following avalanches. They have been forced to live indoors due to avalanches. Locals living in risky areas are in grave danger of losing their lives and property.

The trekking route has been obstructed due to the avalanches.

Manaslu Trek is among the remote and off-the-beaten-path compared to the better-known teahouse treks in Nepal. The trek takes you around Manaslu, the world’s eighth highest mountain at 8,163 meters (26,781 ft).
