Cabinet meeting: No discussions held on repealing ordinance

KATHMANDU: Although a meeting of Council of Ministers held on Thursday was expected to withdraw the controversial ordinance on the Constitutional Council, the meeting took no decision to that effect.

Today’s Cabinet meeting was expected to decide to revoke the ordinance after Prime Minister KP Oli had agreed to withdraw the ordinance as it courted controversies from several quarters. The meeting, however, didn’t discuss the issue.

The Cabinet meeting even did not take any decision on the summoning of the winter session of the Parliament.

The meeting decided to recognize Krishna Temple project under construction in Nagarjun area of Kathmandu on the initiative of Indian religious Guru Jagat Guru Kripaluji Maharaj as a national pride project.

The project is being constructed at a cost of Rs 7 billion, said a minister.
