Four held for forcing teenage girls into fresh trade

BHAKTAPUR: Police have arrested four individuals on charges of forcing young girls into prostitution in Bhaktapur.

They were arrested following a complaint lodged at the police station by a victim that they had been raped after being lured to lucrative jobs at a resort.

The arrested are Nishchal Upadhyaya, 26, of Thalara rural municipality-2, Bajhang, Pradeep Kuwar,20, of Myagde rural municipality, Tanahun, Pradeep KC of Bhumlu rural municipality-2, Kavre and Ashwin Kunwar of Gorkha municipality-9, Laxmi Bazaar, Gorkha, informed District Police Office, Bhaktapur.

Acting on a statement given by a victim, a police squad deployed from Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur raided a resort based at Helmet Danda in Changunarayan municipality-7 on December 17.
