Seven gamblers arrested from Kuleshwar



KATHMANDU: Seven gamblers have been arrested in Kuleshwor of Kathmandu, police said.

Police seized a total of Rs 238,850 in cash and Rs 794,870 in 11 bank checks from the gambling den.

Acting on a tip-off, police arrested them from the house of Shiva Shrestha of Kuleshwor, said Deputy Superintendent of Police, Metropolitan Police Circle, Kalimati, Apil Raj Bohora.

According to him, the arrested are Shiva Shrestha, 44, of Kuleshwor, Yadav Chaulagai, 44, of Chaurideurali-6, Kavre, Raju Poudel, 41, of Thakre Gaonpalika-8, Dhading and Rajiv Shrestha, 31, of Bharatpur-13, Chitwan, Keshav Prasad Mudwari, 44, Shyam Tamang, 41, of Jitpur, Bara and Prem Baduwal, 28, of Bardagoria-3, Kailali.

Police said investigation is underway under the Gambling Act.
