TUTH’s Dr. Jha succumbs to coronavirus infection

KATHMANDU: Sunil Jha, a cardiologist and professor at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) succumbed to coronavirus infection yesterday.

Dr. Jha, 62, was confirmed with coronavirus a month ago.

He was initially treated at Norvic Hospital after being confirmed with the virus, and was shifted to the ICU at TUTH after his health condition deteriorated.

He also had pneumonia. He had been on a ventilator for three weeks.

According to the doctors involved in the treatment, he died of ‘multi-organ’ failure. Dr Jha was retiring next year.
