PM Oli holds talks with Karnali’s agitating leaders without Dahal

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has held talks with the agitating Nepal Communist Party (NCP) leaders at his official residence in Baluwatar on Saturday.

Chief  Minister of Karnali Pradesh Mahendra Bahadur Shahi, Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning Prakash Jwala, Nepal Communist Party Deputy In-charge Yamlal Kandel, Chief Whip Gulabjang Shah (now suspended)  are present in the meeting.

The dispute has reached a new high in Karnali Pradesh after 18 lawmakers of NCP registered a motion of no confidence against CM Shahi on last Sunday.

Prime Minister Oli and NCP Chairman Dahal called them to Kathmamdu on Tuesday. However, the issue has not yet been  fully resolved.

Dahal had held talks with both the warring groups separately on Thursday and Friday.

Dahal is absent in today’s meeting. He has informed Oil that he would participate in the joint meeting only after discussing this issue with the other NCP leaders, said Bishnu Sapkota, press coordinator of Dahal.
