COVID-19 claims life of NID deputy director



KATHMANDU: A high-ranking police officer working for the National Investigation Department (NID) has died of coronavirus.

A Superintendent of Police, who was wroking as the deputy director for NID, was taking medicine for the last three years due to blood pressure and various other ailments.

According to NID sources, he was self-isolating in his office in Bagmati Pradesh after he tested positive for COVID-19. Recently, he had difficulty in breathing.

According to sources, as many as 70 eployees at the NID have been infected so far.

Out of them, 40 have been recovered. Most of the infected are working in the border areas, said NID sources.
