INARUWA: Two Indian goons were injured in the cross-firing between the Indian traffickers and Nepal Police on Nepal-India border at Devangunj-3, Pani Tanki on Thursday evening.
According to District Police Office Sunsari, the Indian traffickers injured in the cross-firing with the police are undergoing treatment in Sunsari.
SP Kamal Thapa reported that two of the traffickers injured in the crossfire are undergoing treatment at Dharan-based BP Koirala Health Science Academy whereas three others are absconding.
“The traffickers coming to Nepal on two bikes opened fire and tried to seize the weapons of the police who had stopped them for checking,” SP Thapa said, adding, “In response the police fired them back and managed to arrest two when three more managed to run away after the incident.”
The police have seized a pistol, six rounds of bullets and two magazines from the traffickers.
Sunsari Police has intensified the search for the absconding traffickers.
