Nick Simons Foundation provides universal anesthesia to government



KATHMANDU: The Nick Simons Foundation has provided 14 units of universal anesthesia including ventilators to the Government of Nepal.

Foundation’s senior program manager Dr Kashim Shah handed over the medical support to Minister for Health and Population Bhanubhakta Dhakal at the premises of the Department of Health Services, Teku.

On the occasion, Minister Dhakal expressed gratitude to the Foundation for providing the important medical support in the present adverse situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

The machines which facilitate conducting surgery without use of oxygen would be sent to Sankhuwasabha hospital, Gaighat hospital in Udayapur, Damak hospital in Jhapa, Lahan hospital Siraha, Kalaiya hospital Bara, Trishuli hospital, Dolakha district hospital, Bir hospital, Bharatpur hospital, Damauli hospital, Syangja district hospital, Gulmi hospital, Prithvi Chandra hospital and Kalikot hospital.

It is said one such machine costs Rs 30.6 million. The Foundation had provided 10 ventilators to the government before this.
