Coronavirus cases jump to 247 in Gandaki Pradesh



KATHMANDU:  The number of coronavirus infection cases in Gandaki Pradesh has reached 247 as of Wednesday morning.

According to a press note issued by the Ministry of Social Development of Gandaki Pradesh, the newly infected are 18 from Nawalparasi East and three from Parbat.

Spokesperson for COVID-19 Control and Prevention Program Dr Binod Bindu Sharma said 14 people tested positive for coronavirus in Hupse rural municipality, two in Madhyabindu municipality, one in Kawasoti municipality of Nawalparasi East and one whose address is yet to be ascertained.

Similarly, one female and two males have contracted coronavirus in Phalesbas municipality of Parbat district.

Preparations are underway to take them to the isolation of respective districts.  The entire infected have recently returned from India.
