Drinking poison kills one in Dolpa

Two seriously ill flown to Surkhet



DOLPA: A man of 35 years died of poison in Tripura Sundari-1 on Saturday afternoon while two youths seriously affected are airlifted to Surkhet for further treatment.

Shuk Lal Kulal 35, of Tripura Sundari Municipality-1, died of drinking poison when Rupsi Kulal and Bindu Kulal became critically ill on Saturday afternoon.

“They were critically ill when they were brought to the District Public Health Office, so they are sent to Surkhet for further treatment,” Dr. Sijan Rawal, the Chief officer of District Public Health Office, Dolpa said.

According to Suresh Sunar, the Chief District Officer of Dolpa, the critically ill people were sent to Surkhet in Mountain Air’s helicopter brought by Phurba Lama of Kaike Rural Municipality.

According to sources, they had drunk poison while having a meal.  The police are investigating to find out whether they took the poison on their own or someone else plotted against them.
