KATHMANDU: Chandragiri municipality which adjoins Nagdhunga checkpoint in the western part of the Kathmandu Valley has been sealed for four days.

The municipality will remain sealed until May 20 (6 am) to contain the Coronavirus pandemic starting 12 pm today, said Ghana Shyam Giri, Mayor of the municipality.

No one is allowed to come out of their houses during the period. In case of urgencies, an individual has to mandatorily wear mask, gloves, use sanitizer and maintain social distancing.

All the shops except pharmacies will remain closed including the construction works.

This stricter measure has been taken after six Coronavirus cases were confirmed in the municipality.

Meanwhile, the government has tightened checks at the Nagdhunga entry point, said Giri.

A person each of Machchhegaun, Dahachowk, Balambu and Satungal and two Armed Police Force personnel were infected with the novel virus, informed Hari Bhakta Maharjan, spokesperson of the municipality.
