COVID-19 test to be conducted on health workers: Health Ministry

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population will conduct the COVID-19 test on the health workers working in prevention and control of the deadly infection as well in the treatment of the infected ones.

In a notice issued by the Ministry here today, it was said those health workers would undergo the rapid diagnostic test (RDT).

According to the Ministry’s spokesperson Dr. Bikash Devkota, the RDT would also be conducted on all the foreign returnees who arrived within March.

The Ministry has mentioned that the test would be conducted on those staying in the quarantines for more than 14 days. The government has ordered a nation-wide lockdown since March 24 to contain the outbreak of COVID-19.

So far 16 cases of COVID-19 have been detected in the country. The lockdown continues until the end of April.
