Five more die from COVID-19 in Kaski, Morang and Banke



KATHMANDU: Five more people including an octogenarian have died from COVID-19 in the course of treatment in Kaski , Morang and Banke districts.

Two people have died from COVID-19 in Pokhara Metropolitan City in Kaski district.

An 84-year-old man of Pokhara Metropolitan City-12 died from COVID-19 in the course of treatment at Fishtail Hospital at 5:45 am today, said Dr Binod Bindu Sharma, the spokesperson of COVID Prevention and Control Program of Gandaki Pradesh. The octogenarian had tested positive for COVID-19 on December 8.

Similarly, a 76-year-old man of Pokhara-1 succumbed to the virus at the same hospital at 10:20 am today.

The elderly had tested positive for COVID-19 on December 10.  According to Dr Sharma, he had also been suffering from diabetes and kidney-related ailments.

With this, the number of deaths from COVID-19 has reached 186 in Gandaki Pradesh.

Likewise, two more persons have died of COVID-19 while undergoing treatment at Koshi Hospital, Biratnagar.

A 22-year-old man from Sundaraharaincha Municipality-3 of Morang died last night, said Dr. Deepak Sigdel, Chief of the Center and Senior Physician.

The youth was admitted to the hospital for treatment after his report came positive on December 14. He died at the hospital the next day.

Similarly, a 73-year-old woman of Patharishanischare Municipality-1 of Morang also died last night.

According to Dr Sigdel, she was admitted for treatment on December 12 after she was confirmed with coronavirus infection.

A 26-year-old woman has died from COVID-19 in Banke at the wee hours of Wednesday.

The patient of Shuklafanta-10, Kanchanpur died in the course of treatment at Kohalpur Medical College at 1 am today.

She had been admitted to the hospital after testing positive for COVID-19 on December 11, said Tej Wali, the focal person of Banke.
