Prachanda rejects PM Oli’s proposal to postpone Standing Committee meeting

KATHMANDU: Chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” has rejected the proposal of Prime Minister KP Oli to postpone the meeting of the Standing Committee scheduled to be held in Baluwatar at 1 pm today.

A meeting of the Standing Committee is being held on Wednesday.

Leader and Chief Minister of Lumbini Province Shankar Pokharel had reached Prachanda’s residence this morning with Oli’s proposal.

Pokharel informed Prachanda of Oli’s proposal to postpone the meeting.

Prachanda, however, rejected the offer, according to his secretariat.

The disgruntled faction led by Prachanda and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal are displeased with PM Oli after the latter brought an ordinance on Constitutional Council brought.

The issue will be discussed in the Standing Committee meeting, sources said.
