1,197 diagnosed COVID-19 positive, Nepal’s tally reaches 210,973

KATHMANDU: As many as 1,197 people have been diagnosed coronavirus positive in the last 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, Nepal’s COVID-19 tally has reached 210,973 with fresh cases as of Monday afternoon.

A total of 2,934 individuals got discharged from the hospitals in the past 24 hours while the number of people winning the battle against the virus reached 176,364 in the country.

Nepal currently has 33,379 active cases.

Out of the total active COVID-19 cases, 28,360 people are in home isolation.

According to the Ministry of Health, 3,685 people in Province 1 are in home isolation, 768 in Province 2, 18,377 in Bagmati, 1,967 in Gandaki, 2,203 in Lumbini, 258 in Karnali, and 1,102 in Sudurpaschim Province.

Meanwhile, a total of 310 COVID-19 patients in Nepal are undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and 44 have been put on ventilator support.

According to the Ministry of Health, 46 persons are undergoing treatment in ICU in Province 1, 15 in Province 2, 92 in Bagmati Province, 78 in Gandaki Province, 64 in Lumbini Province, 10 in Karnali Province, and five in Sudurpaschim Province.

A total of 11 in Province 1, two in Province 2, 25 in Bagmati, two in Gandaki Province, and four in Lumbini Province are on the ventilator support.

Likewise, 1,013 people are in quarantine facilities across the country at present.

As many as nine people succumbed to the virus in the past 24 hours taking the COVID-19 death tally in the country to 1,230, the Ministry confirmed.
