KATHMANDU: Courts across the country will be closed from Ghatasthapana to Kojagat Purnima of the Dashain festival.

As in the previous year, all the courts will be closed for 15 days from October 17-30.

The Supreme Court (SC) has stated that the courts will remain open for habeas corpus even though the regular services of the courts will be closed.

According to the Judicial Administration Act 2073, if the court is closed for more than three days, the courts should be kept open for habeas corpus petitions.

Accordingly, the apex court will be open all day except Saturday from 11 am to 3 pm.

High courts and district courts will also remain open for habeas corpus petitions.
