Home Minister Thapa directs Nepal Police to quell activities of underground outfits



KATHMANDU: Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa’ Badal’ has instructed the police personnel to repress the activities of the underground outfits challenging the constitutional achievements.

Addressing at the Nepal Police Headquarters on the occasion of the 65th Police Day on Friday, Home Minister Thapa said that the outfits were trying to create obstacles in development works, involving in donations drive under political cover, and obstructing in exercising the rights of common citizens fearlessly.

Home Minister Thapa has instructed the police not to compromise on information gathering, analysis, and field operations to quell such groups.

“You (police personnel) here are more knowledgeable about crime and criminals than I am and are professional. Therefore, I would like to promise to provide proper coordination and assistance by analyzing the trend of crime and move forward in a strategically planned manner,” said Home Minister Thapa.
