KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli has said that the government is determined to control any murder, violence, extremism and social crimes in the country.
Addressing the 65th Police Day celebrations held at the Police Headquarters on Friday, Prime Minister Oli urged the security personnel to be active and fearless against such unwanted activities.
He said that it was equally crucial for the civil society to be aware and vigilant towards such activities.
Prime Minister Oli said the government was determined to take stern action against acid attacks by bringing in new laws, adding that similar rules would be brought against rape.
“As the incidents of rape are reprehensible and a crime against humanity, the government is preparing to bring stricter laws to control such activities,” said Prime Minister Oli. “Incidents like rape cannot be tolerated in the name of reconciliation.”
He urged the police to focus on building a crime-free society and contributing to lasting peace by implementing the law.
Prime Minister Oli drew the attention of the security personnel to the need to strengthen the internal security system for the prosperity, prosperity, and good governance of the country.
He mentioned that the rule of law, human rights, and good governance and development would be built based on that.
Describing the Nepal Police as the beacon of internal security of the country, Prime Minister Oli expressed the belief that only through the realization of duty can the country fully realize prosperity, the rule of law and good governance.
Reiterating that the government has a zero-tolerance policy against corruption, Prime Minister Oli said that the police would play an essential role in its full implementation.
Home Minister Thapa also instructed the police to move ahead with a strategic plan by analyzing the crime trend.
He assured that the ministry would have positive support in strengthening the organization.
