IPL2020: Punjab beats Bangalore by 8 wickets



KATHMANDU: Kings XI Punjab has defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by eight wickets in an Indian Premier League (IPL) held in the United Arab Emirates on Thursday night.

Chasing the 172-run target set by Bangalore, Punjab reached the target in the allotted 20 overs losing two wickets.

Captain KL Rahul top-scored with 61 runs studded with one four and five sixes off 49 balls and remained not out. CH Gayle and MA Agarwal made 53 and 45 runs respectively to ensure the win for Punjab.

Bangalore’s YS Chahal took one wicket of Punjab.

Earlier, electing to bat first after losing the toss, Bangalore notched up 161 runs losing six wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Captain Virat Kohli top-scored with 48 runs  off 39 balls, AJ Finch was out for 20 runs while CH Morris secured 25 runs and remained not out.

On the bawling side, Mohammed Shami and M Ashwin took two wickets each of Bangalore.
