Three killed, one goes missing in separate incidents



KATHMANDU: Three people have died and one has gone missing in four separate incidents that took place in various districts across the country.

In Dhading, a person died when he fell down after a tree branch, he had climbed to drive away hornets from their nest, broke.

Police identified the victim as 35-year-old Arjun Bahadur Thapamagar of Tripurasundari rural municipality-4 in the district.

Critically injured in the incident, Thapamagar died on the way to hospital while his friend, 24-year-old Rajbir Gurung, has been send to Kathmandu for advanced treatment after general treatment at Dhading Hospital, the Dhading District Police stated.

In Jajarkot district, a local level official died while working at his office.

He is 26-year-old Kabiram Roka of Chhiwang, Musikot municipality-13 in Rukum Paschim district.

Roka is the ward secretary at the Nalgaad municipality, ward number 10 in jajarkot district.

The municipality spokesperson Rammaya Hamal said that Roka was suffering from continued fever and difficulty in breathing.

He died within a week from suffering from this condition. Preparations are being made for collecting Roka’s swab for testing for coronavirus infection.

In Kailali district, one person died and 15 others have been taken ill after consuming food cooked for a feast commemorating the death anniversary ritual for a person at Godavari municipality-10 on September 12.

Police has identified the deceased as Suresh Bohara of the same place. He died on Tuesday while undergoing treatment at the Seti Provincial Hospital.

The persons who are ill are being treated at the Provincial Hospital, the Nawajeevan Hospital and Maya Metro Hospital in Dhangadhi.

The hospital sources said the people have become sick due to food poisoning.

In Nawalparasi, a person has gone missing while six others swam to safety when the boat, they were travelling in, capsized in the Narayani river at Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta Paschim) today.

It is said the boat loaded with brick and seven people on board was headed towards Susta from Anomaghat at Susta rural municipality-5.

The incident took place this morning. The missing man has been identified as 28-year-old Pataru Musahar of Maharajgunj, India. Locals and police are searching for him.
