Not to reappoint Kulman Ghising a height of corruption: Mishra



KATHMANDU: Central Coordinator of the Sajha Party, Rabindra Mishra has dubbed the non-appointment of Kulman Ghising as the Managing Director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) a height of corruption of the Oli-led government.

Posting a twitter message on Wednesday, Mishra said law does not bar the government from reappointing its staffers who excel in their performance, referring to the international practices.

“It is a height of corruption on the part of the incumbent government not to extend the tenure of Kulman Ghising who performed extraordinary jobs during his tenure. The system does from the government from reappointing someone who has alreaday proven himself/herself by performing splendid jobs in the real ground,” tweeted Mishra.

He said those who perform brilliant jobs in their first tenure get their second term automatically extended in developed countries, without seeking any applications.

Ghising was bidden adieu amid a farewell ceremony organized by the Nepal Electricity Authority on Tuesday upon completion of his four-year term as the MD.

The government has said it will appoint the next MD through open competition.
