KATHMANDU: The Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) has clarified that it has no plans to dismiss Indian priests working at the Pashupatinath Temple.
PADT Member Secretary Dr. Pradip Dhakal said in a press release that its attention has been drawn to media reports the government is about to sack the Indian priests.
Stating that some forces are active in tarnishing the centuries-old deep religious, spiritual, social and cultural ties between Nepal and India, the trust has requested all not to follow such misleading news.
There is an age-old practice of appointing South Indian Brahmins as priests and chief priests at the famed temple.
