Five of a family buried to death in Sindhupalchowk, identified



KATHMANDU:  Five people who went missing in the landslide that occurred at Fulpingkatti in Bhotekhoshi rural municipality-4 in Sindhupalchowk have been identified.

The deceased are Yangji Sherpa, 16, Chhiringbagu Sherpa, 14, Sumbutti Sherpa, 75, Sangbu Sherpa, 35, and Semang Sherpa, 40, said District Police Office, Sindhupalchowk. All of them are from a single family.

The landslide occurred due to incessant rains at the upper part of Fulpingkatti at 1:38 am today.

A school buildign has also sustained damages in the landslide.

Meanwhile, a rescue team of police has left for the incident site, said Dabuti Sherpa, chief of Bhotekoshi rural municipality.

Earlier, 20 people had gone missing after the landslide triggered by incessant rains occurred in Bahrabise of Sindhupalchowk on July 8.
