Sajha Yatayat resumes services from today

KATHMANDU: Sajha Yatayat, a public transportation service with government’s investment, is resuming its services from today by maintaining precaution against COVID-19.

Public transportation services had come to a halt in Nepal after the government imposed lockdown on March 24.

In the first phase, as many as 26 buses of Sajha Yatayat will ply the streets of Kathmandu Valley in major routes.

Likewise, the buses will carry only 50 per cent passengers of their total capacity, according to Mahendra Pandey, Manager at Sajha Yatayat.

The drivers and assistant drivers are required to wear masks and use sanitizers and maintain social distancing.

Passengers are also required to comply with the basic safety measures determined by the government to stem the spread of the coronavirus.
