NCP demands clarification from MPs absent during voting on statute amendment



KATHMANDU: The ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has demanded a clarification from the lawmakers who were absent during the voting process for amending the constitution.

The amendment bill was endorsed by the House of Representatives on Saturday. A total of 12 lawmakers including four from the ruling party were absent during the voting process.

NCP lawmakers Gopal Bahadur Bam, Dhan Bahadur Budha, Haribol Gajurel and Shiva Kumar Mandal were not present in the parliament that day.

NCP Parliamentary Party Deputy Leader Subas Nembang said that they have been asked to furnish clarification within five days.
