Govt’s measures in combating COVID-19 inadequate: NC



KATHMANDU: The main opposition party, Nepali Congress, has drawn government’s attention urging it to become serious to not allow the coronavirus situation deteriorate further.

Submitting a memorandum to Prime Minister KP Oli at his official residence in Baluwatar on Tuesday, a team of party leader headed by NC’s chief whip Bal Krishna Khand said the government efforts have not been adequate in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.

The party also asked the government to take concrete steps to control the spread of the coronavirus in the country.

The party has been expressing dissatisfaction over the government’s failure to increase the ambit of PCR tests and the condition of most of the quarantine facilities across the country.

Nepali Congress has been alleging the government for failing to take effective measures to control the deadly pandemic, which has so far claimed the lives of 19 people.
