Coronavirus cases jump to 226 in Gandaki Pradesh



KATHMANDU: The number of coronavirus cases has reached 226 in Gandki Pradesh after three new cases were confirmed on Tuesday afternoon.

According to a press note issued by the Ministry of Social Development of Gandaki Pradesh, the newly infected are a nonagenarian of Pokhara Metropolitan City in Kaski  and two males aged 12 and 46 of Shuklagandaki municipality of Tanahu district.

The 90-year-old man was diagnosed with the COVID-19 while he was undergoing treatment at Pashchimanchal Community Hospital, Pokhara.

Preparations are underway to keep him in the isolation of Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences, said Dr Binod Bindu Sharma, the Spokesperson for the COVID-19 Control and Prevention Program of Gandaki Province.

Similarly, the other two infected are being taken to the isolation of GP Koirala Respiratory Center in Shuklagandaki municipality of Tanahu district.

Earlier, 18 new coronavirus infection cases were confirmed this morning taking the tally to 223 in the province.
